Is it Football season yet...?

With the NBA season ending in a less than favorable manner (Sorry, #DubNation), I know most of you are wondering: when does football season start?  NFL and College Football fans rejoice, it's that special time of year where you can start counting down until the beginning of the 2016 college football season (Aug. 27th) and 2016 NFL season (Sept. 8th).  

My name is James "Action" Jackson, and I've been given the privilege of being the guest correspondent on all things football-related.  From Heisman polls to power rankings to a Big Hit of the Week list, I'll be doing my best to keep you satisfied as we rapidly approach the best sports season of the year.  

Given that it is the middle of the summer, there's not a lot to talk about, unfortunately.  Given that, there will be a regular update of training camps and football related news.  NFL Preseason does not count, and I will not report on it.

The emphasis of my posts will, of course, be on local Bay Area teams (California Bears, San Francisco 49ers, Oakland Raiders), but coverage will include all NFL and Top 25 College Football teams.  As a native son of Oakland, I am tempted to give my Raiders some occasional special treatment. However, for the love of the sport, all rankings and discussion will be fair.
